PTAC, are an agribusiness organization whose main objectives are based on food security, sustainable agriculture, climate smart agriculture, enterprise acceleration programs, network matchmaking programs, capacity building, Enterprise/Cooperatives development programs, value chain and market linkages.

We, Procurement Technical Agribusiness Centre, Dairy Primary Producer Cooperative Association and other partners are excited to once again host the Eastern and Central Agribusiness Investment Summit 2018 (ECCAIS 2018) to be held on 25th to 27th April 2018, in Kiambu County.

PTAC, organized the first ECCAIS 2016, hosted by Tharaka Nithi County at Chuka University on 7th to 9th October, 2015. The Summit was graced by thirteen county governments; Tharaka Nithi, Kiambu, Meru, Isiolo, Embu, Kitui, Machakos, Laikipia, Nyeri, Muranga, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga and Makueni. Other participants included; banks, cooperatives, CBOs, NGOs, Value chain actors: feed suppliers, agrochemical companies, seed suppliers and equipment suppliers.

During the 2016 summit, Kiambu County emerged the best county overall among the participating counties and other exhibitors in terms of booth display, farmers training and value addition products.

ECCAIS 2018 will go a long way in benefiting Kiambu County in raising the profile of the county in terms of agricultural productivity, animal husbandry, agro-tourism, dairy processing and value addition among others. This will open up opportunities for more networking, business linkages and employment creation opportunities as well as inter county trading opportunities.

ECCAIS 2018 will be a major event and through the department of agriculture, we would with to request The Governor to take a leading role in organization and preparation of the summit.

In reference to the above, we humbly request your able office to take lead in promotion of the event and showcase the county prowess in agribusiness to all the stakeholders in the agricultural value chain in the thirteen counties.
